Attempting to Recover Installation Undoing Changes Made to your Computer

I switched on my laptop. I saw the starting screen. As soon as it enters to load Operating System, I started seeing Attempting to recover installation undoing changes made to your computer once.

I waited for a while. I thought It might get fixed in 10-15 minutes. But this stupid error keeps on re-appearing.

If you don’t see System Recovery Function Key and this error keeps reappearing. Here is the second method.

STEP 1

In this post, I am going to use a bootable Pendrive. Insert the bootable PEN drive into a USB slot/port. Power on your computer. Immediately keep pressing the boot options menu Function Key. In my case it is F9.

STEP 2

When BOOT OPTION MENU appears, you need to select your bootable pen drive. In my case, it is USB HARD DRIVE SANDISK.

STEP 3

I have a multi-boot Operating System in my pen drive. So out of 3 options, I am Selecting Windows 1909, which means Windows 10 itself.

If you have a single boot Operating System in your pen drive, then you just need to press any key when it asks you to boot from a pen drive or DVD.

STEP 4

Further, when Windows Setup appears, you just click on the next button or press Alt+N.

STEP 5

While you see the INSTALL NOW button, you must choose to REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER option.

STEP 6

You are prompted with CHOOSE AN OPTION menu, just click on TROUBLESHOOT

STEP 7

As you proceed further, you see Advanced Options. Here you must select the COMMAND PROMPT option.

STEP 8

COMMAND PROMPT window pops up. You have to type the command “bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal”. Finally press enter.

You see THE OPERATION COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY message.

After that, type “exit” and press enter.

STEP 9

As soon as you exit the command prompt, you need to select “TURN OFF YOU PC” option.

STEP 10

Meanwhile your system restarts, you need to unplug your bootable pen drive or remove your bootable DVD.

At this time your system won’t enter into attempting to recover installation undoing changes made to your computer problem loop.

Next your system boots into the safe mode. Type User Name and Password if you have kept the security.

STEP 11

Once you login into the safe mode, go to run menu (press Windows and R button), type “msconfig” and hit enter.

“msconfig” command is a lifesaver solution to solve attempting to recover installation undoing changes made to your computer problem.

STEP 12

System Configuration window pops up. Under the General tab, you must select the Normal Startup option and click on the apply button.

STEP 13

Click Boot Tab. Select your default Operating system and click on the Set as Default button. And click on the apply button.

STEP 14

After that, un-tick the Safe Boot option and click ok button.

STEP 15

Finally, the System Configuration window pops up. Select the Restart button.

Your System Reboots. Log in with User Name and Password. And your windows must be back to life.
